Journal Entry #2 - Essay Example First is the issue of hazing. While hazing has been outlawed as illegal, Greek Letter fraternities or sororities still run the danger of resuscitating the practice to the detriment of unsuspecting neophytes. Second is the issue of rite of passage where every neophyte has to go through to become a full member and finally is the issue of beer binges and excessive partying associated with Greek Letter fraternities. Thus, to answer if Greek Life is for me, my reply would be that I am not just into beer binges and excessive partying that runs up to the wee hours of the morning. I like to have fun also but alcohol and staying up late with is just not me. With regard to its advantages of having plenty of friends and study mates, I already have friends and reliable classmates whom I can study with. With regard to network after college, I believe that my own capability can stand its own in the labor market. I also do not believe in the rite of passage that every neophyte has to go through just to be accepted and become a full member.
